| Our bathtub solar oven |
Our old bath tub solar oven. We used some scrap lumber and insulation
to cover the outside of an old metal tub to make this oven. We took two
old windows to make the inside cover, painted the inside flat black and
inserted an oven thermometer. The outer cover has aluminum foil glued
under it for a reflector, creating what is called two suns.
Works great, and gets up to 250+ degrees F. The nice thing about it, we
can bake 7 or 8 loaves of bread and still have room for a dutch oven
dinner. And it wont burn the bread if it is left in all day. Cost was free!
